Message from the President:
Welcome to our web site. To maximize your viewing experience,
please browse the site by using Microsoft® Internet Explorer.
Spring has sprung into action – and so has MAPA and the
paralegal profession!
Within the last month, MAPA has awarded its first two
scholarships,
announced two exciting summer events,
and unveiled a new mentoring
program to
the membership. And the big news in our profession is that the
Wisconsin Supreme Court denied the Petition on Licensure
and Regulation of Paralegals. I invite members to learn more by
reading our Spring
Newsletter 2008, and by exploring
our recently updated web site. Get started with the links to the
right!
To keep your skills sharp, or to learn about a new field of law,
plan to attend MAPA’s
upcoming educational events. Topics include ethics, administrative
law,
estate planning
and personal injury. Take a moment to visit MAPA's Calendar
of Events and
note that
as a result of member feedback, Lunch & Learns
will alternate between Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays this
year, and have been extended to 1.5 hours.
2008 continues to be another exciting year for MAPA,
so if you haven't joined yet, now's
the time!
Take advantage of opportunities to meet other legal professionals;
attend educational events; develop
leadership skills; enjoy "member
only" benefits, such as a quarterly newsletter, job
postings (we've already had nine this year!), an annual meeting,
and information on the
web site; become a mentor; promote the paralegal profession; and
to simply have
fun.
